Ben Gillies (본명 Benjamin David Gillies)는 오스트레일리아 뉴캐슬에서 태어 났습니다. 오스트레일리아의 밴드인 Silverchair의 드러머로 잘 알려져 있습니다. 1995년 1집 'Frogstomp'를 시작으로 2007년 'Young Modern'까지 총 5장의 스튜디오 정규 앨범이 있으며 1집과 2집은 미국과 오스트레일리아에서 대단한 성공을 거두었으며,현재도 꾸준한 활동을 하고 있습니다.
Chormatic 은 음의 배열 순서가 도레미파솔라시도 이런 식으로 되어 있어서 한 음씩 연주하는 것이구요, Diatonic 은 들숨과 날숨에 따라서 옆의 칸의 음이 화음을 이루도록 배치되어 있어서 하모니카로 솔로하면서 반주 또는 2중 화음을 같이 연주할 수 있도록 한 제품입니다.
Diatonic 하모니카는 예를 들어 C키일 때에 가운데 부분은 도레미파솔라시도로 구성이 되어 있지만, 저음부는 F가 없고 고음부는 B가 없어서 들숨과 날숨에서 화음이 되는 구성입니다.
트레몰로 하모니카는 아래의 제품들 처럼 구멍을 막거나 열 수 있는 장치가 있어서 공기 구멍을 막았다가 떼었다가 하면 트레몰로 소리가 나게 됩니다.
C키 하모니카는 C키로 된 노래(곡) 에서만 연주가 가능합니다.
하모니카 홀의 수는 낼 수 있는 음의 범위 입니다. 10 홀 이상의 경우에서는 한 곳에서 들숨과 날숨에 따라 다른 음정이 나도록 조밀하게 배치되어 있습니다.
